In Hydrocephalus Awareness Week 6 – 12 March, Davies and Partners’ specialist medical negligence department is delighted to announce that the Firm has been appointed to the legal panel of Shine, the national charity that supports those with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
Davies and Partners’ partnership with Shine is led by Legal Director Katherine Pearce, who heads up the Firm’s medical negligence team in Bristol.
Katherine has worked with Shine for a number of years and she was the driving force in setting up the legal panel for the Charity. Katherine has a child with hydrocephalus, so has first-hand experience of the support Shine offers to its members.
Davies and Partners are one of just three law firms in the UK, selected by Shine to provide their members with trusted legal support.
Kate Steele, CEO of Shine says: “We are delighted that Davies and Partners has joined the Shine legal panel. Katherine Pearce was instrumental in establishing the panel and we are so pleased that she is continuing to support the effective working relationship with our other panel solicitors. Katherine brings with her a wealth of experience in understanding the needs of our members and personal insight as the parent of a Shine member with hydrocephalus”.
In announcing the partnership, Katherine Pearce says: “When something has gone wrong with clinical care, it is not an easy decision to consider legal proceedings. The Shine legal service aims to support members investigating whether avoidable mistakes were made and if so, seeking the necessary additional care, equipment or assistance that is now needed. I am thrilled that Davies & Partners have been selected to the Shine legal panel so we can work together with Shine members to find answers and provide support”.
