The Mother of Martha Mills 13, who tragically died of Sepsis, tells the family’s heart-breaking story, in the Guardian this week

Davies and Partners’ Chief Executive and Head of Medical Negligence Ewan Lockhart has been acting for the family of 13-year-old Martha Mills, who died of sepsis while being treated at King’s College Hospital (KCH) in South London, following an injury to her pancreas.

We featured Martha’s tragic case here in March 2022.  This week, Martha’s mother Merope, has written a heart-breaking account of the incident from the moment Martha fell off her bike while on a family holiday, through the catastrophic events and decisions which led to her death.  It is a heartrending account from a mother who hopes that the article will encourage anyone else in a similar horrific situation, however indebted they feel to the NHS, to challenge decisions…hold their ground and to remember that most of the doctors in hospitals are just training.” To read the article in full please click here.
