Emma is Head of the Court of Protection team. She is a solicitor and barrister with over 30 years experience acting for clients who have suffered life-changing injuries and is hugely knowledgeable about the practical and emotional difficulties they can face.

Emma acts as a professional Deputy and regularly undertakes work on behalf of lay Deputies, professional Deputies, trustees & also litigation solicitors whose clients lack the necessary mental capacity to manage their property & financial affairs.

Emma has been closely involved in a number of high-value property purchase and adaptation projects for injured clients which have been life-changing for them and their loved ones, and hugely rewarding for those involved in the projects. This is a particular area of expertise and interest.

Emma is experienced in all aspects of preparing and drafting applications to the Court of Protection including applications to extend the authority of the Deputy, applications for Statutory Wills and applications relating to gifts and property held abroad. She has detailed knowledge of Statutory Funding eligibility and welfare benefit entitlement.

Emma is very well organised, is tenacious on her clients’ behalf and has a keen eye for detail as well as being approachable, calm and compassionate. Emma is also a qualified mediator.
